This page under construction!
Although I gave up designing and adding to the Lind Web Site (www.lindwa.com) I decided to maintain some Lions Club pages that totally represented them as an organization. I decided that they can take readers on many memorable projects and events in the town of Lind. Since they all work for a common goal, (our Lind kids and Senior Citizens) I felt that this was a good way to keep everyone connected. As I was making these Lion's pages, I decided to start a "remember" page recognizing hard working Lion members who were no longer with us but who had greatly contributed to the success of the club. Lind has lost many such members, but I had to start somewhere, so I begin with remembering Lion, Joe Holland.
IN FOND MEMORY......
Joe Holland was one of the original Charter members, and in 1968, he helped form the new Lions Club which has been going strong since it's inception. Fortunately, the club consists of all ages which has been a benefit, and although their goals have been monumental, they have succeeded beyond expectation. Joe was an asset in so many projects. He led the club as president a couple of times, and took his turn successfully as the Lion's Tail Twister. He was dedicated to the annual BBQ, the rodeo, and then the Combine Demolition Derby. He was recognized as a Grand Marshal of the Grand Parade and he owned one of the best gaming rooms in Lind. (Cribbage was probably the only game in town, but it was wildly popular). The 'fridge was always stocked with beer, the stove was always burning for welcomed heat, and the camaraderie was awesome. Everyone stopped to see Joe. We will never forget him!
